The Turkish resort town of Kuşadasi has been transformed by AkzoNobel
Marshall, an AkzoNobel paint brand has revitalised the coastal town of Kuşadasi to the delight of its residents. It all came together as part of a community project organised by the paint company. Over 400 homes are being brightened up as part of the company’s global “Let’s Colour” program.

The project is now near completion in the Tepe neighbourhood, the upper area of the town. The 2,000 residents of Tepe are looking forward to welcoming visitors from all over the world attracted by the colourful makeover and keen to get a look at this unique spectacle. The brightly coloured dwelleings of the town boasts spectacular views of the Adriatic. Combined with the spectacular colour scheme this will make for picture postcard photos for years to come thanks to the coatings innovation.

Over 50,000 litres of paint produced by Marshall has been used on the project so far. As as a result of collaboration between the Kusadasi local community and the Venuart Group this is the biggest “Let’s Colour” activity in Turkey so far. This is the seventh “Let’s Colour” project undertaken by Marhsall since it all started in Turkey back in 2010.
We’re delighted that our passion for paint is helping to uplift local communities and create happy homes in and around Kusadasi, it makes us really proud when we see the difference our products can make. – said Rainer Schmidt, global director of consumer marketing for AkzoNobel Decorative Paints.

Kuşadasi is the Turkey’s busiest cruise port and now it has a new attraction in Tepe’s Let’s Colour project, thanks to the Dutch paint company AkzoNobel. Paint coating work in the remaining buildings is expected to be complete by the end of April 2019. In the first phase of the project 177 buildings were coated with Akrikor, Marshall’s Weathershield exterior paint.

Akrikor is especially for exterior use. It can be used safely in natural dried concrete, cement based plaster, exterior plasters, brick, asbestos cement and old painted surfaces and is resistant to all seasonal weather conditions. The Kuşadasi project will bring the total amount of paint used for the AkzoNobel’s “Let’s Colour” projects to well over 1.3 million litres so far.
This is a crucial location for us, as it’s the first place seen by tourists when they arrive at Kusadasi port. It makes for a striking panorama, which is why we believe this project will make a great contribution to our community. – Kusadasi Mayor Özer Kayali said.
It’s great to see how we can make living spaces more social, pleasurable and habitable while also inspiring and motivating people through the use of color. It’s been so many years since my visits to Ephesus and Kuşadasi that I’d likely be rediscovering these two cities again, and now one of them is rainbow-coloured to boot! – said Marshall’s Marketing Manager Pinar Adabag.
