Project Background
Previously occupied by Perry Ellis Europe Ltd., a leading apparel merchant, the warehouse had fallen into disrepair after being vacated in 2023. The property faced significant challenges, including:
Multiple roof leaks.
Malfunctioning roller shutters.
Dated and deteriorated office spaces in urgent need of modernization.
Roof coating process complete and ready for temporary scaffold barrier removal and client handover.
About the Building
Constructed in 1980, this steel-framed, multi-gable warehouse exemplifies the durable design of industrial properties from its era. Its robust steel structure, reinforced concrete flooring, and block-built lower walls have supported decades of rigorous use. However, even the most resilient structures require expert care to maintain their functionality—a challenge we embraced alongside Abbott Building Limited.

Scope of Work
After detailed on-site surveys, a comprehensive refurbishment plan was developed to deliver a high-quality result on schedule and within budget. With these strict requirements, Abbott Building Limited trusted D&D Coatings to execute this demanding project.

Exterior Works
Commencing in August 2024, our Northern HQ team mobilized on-site, ensuring all health and safety protocols were in place, including scaffolding and roof access systems. External improvements included:
Cleaning and repairing cladding, gutters, and trims.
Cladding over select external windows for a uniform appearance.
Parapet, coping and trim fully re-coated.
Coatings and Aesthetic Enhancements
Following repairs, the roof and wall cladding underwent a thorough cleaning and preparation process before applying a modern, durable coating system. The new color scheme—a striking combination of light grey and dark blue—was chosen to enhance the property’s curb appeal.

Internal Refurbishment
The interior received significant upgrades to ensure functionality and modern standards were met:
Concrete floor required treatment and all internal walls, supporting columns and roof structure components needed re-coating.
Old roller shutters needed to be replaced due to faulty locking mechanisms and perished leaking seals.
Warehouse Improvements:
Cleaning and recoating all internal steel components.
Machine-brushing concrete floors to remove contaminants and prepare for operations.
